Today the winter sunshine made the River Tweed look even more beautiful than normal. This picture was taken from a view point next to the Coldstream Bridge looking up the river toward Coldstream.
Coldstream is a very pretty town on the bank of the River Tweed. Just outside of Coldstream, the River Tweed forms a natural boundary between Scotland and England. The town gives its name to the famous regiment the Coldstream Guards which was founded in the town in 1659. Each year the town commemorates the Battle of Flodden during its Civic Week.
